Adapting Your Advocacy with The Arc Maryland: January 13, 2021

One of our biggest advocacy events of the year is back! In 2021, Legislative Calendar Day has been expanded to four days of advocacy training and meeting opportunities with legislators, from January 12th to 15th, 2021.

Prepare by attending one of our Adapting Your Advocacy training events on the 12th or the 13th! Join us to get tips we have gathered from state legislators on “making your case,” learn about legislative priorities of The Arc, and step through the procedural changes that have been made to hearings, submissions of testimony, floor session protocols, communications, visits with legislators, and more.

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) Celebration

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). 2020 marks the 75th observance of NDEAM, as well as the 30th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This year’s NDEAM theme is: Increasing Access and Opportunity.

On Friday, September 25, 2020, from 12-1 p.m., panelists will share information on voting at the state and federal levels, and will discuss issues affecting those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as Kennedy Krieger’s perspective on relevant topics.
