Since November 2012, Jeff has been working part time as a Breakfast Host at Homewood Suites Hotel in Columbia. Since his first day on the job, the staff at Homewood Suites Columbia has welcomed Jeff with open arms and considers him to be part of the hotel family. General Manager Norman Eaton encourages each of his employees to challenge themselves, and understands that providing employees a friendly and warm workplace environment helps to foster a healthy and positive attitude; an approach from which Jeff and the other employees can benefit.
The Homewood Suites management team has worked with Jeff to provide him a flexible work schedule and the necessary natural supports that help him succeed in his position. The staff feels that Jeff has been a great addition to the team and considers him to be a valuable employee. The biggest challenge to Jeff in his job has been learning all the new tasks, as well as learning where everything goes at the end of the breakfast shift. Homewood Suites management team members Joyce Rhine and Robert Stevens have helped facilitate Jeff’s transition by checking in with him daily to make sure that he understands his responsibilities and what is expected of him. Jeff is thankful for the opportunity to work at Homewood Suites Columbia and believes that he is truly part of a team that cares about his needs as an employee.
