Howard Hueberger, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory, took the time and made the effort to encourage and support a person with developmental disabilities in acquiring and retaining a position at APL. Howard engaged other employees in creating a support network to prepare for the new employee once he had been interviewed and hired but before he had actually started to work. Howard continued to stay engaged, monitoring his employee’s progress and teaching him new tasks.
