The Arc of Howard County is seeking caring, reliable, and devoted direct support professionals to assist people supported by The Arc of Howard County with work/volunteering skills. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, be willing to complete medication technician training, and have at least one year of experience in the field.
Responsibilities include:
Assist individual(s) with activities of daily living; to include but not limited to:
- Personal care and grooming
- Preparing meals
- Light housekeeping
- Providing transportation
- Outings and recreational activities in the community
- Administering medication
- Providing transportation
- Helping them achieve their goals
Qualifications: The ideal candidate must:
- Have excellent interpersonal & communication skills
- A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- A valid U.S. Driver’s License
- An acceptable Criminal Background Investigation
- An acceptable drug screen
- An acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (no more than 3 points on record)
- A passing score on the Medication Administration Pre Test (completed at the time of interview)
- Be willing to complete Medication Administration 20-hour training course upon hire
