“Imagine” Living Life to the Fullest

Imagine” living life…to the fullest. “Imagine,” a new video from The Arc of Howard County, features people with intellectual and developmental disabilities doing just that…living their best lives. The “Imagine” video was produced by Pam Long Photography featuring the vocal talents of Bach to Rock Fulton, MD‘s Carl Pfanstiehl. Thank you, Pam, Carl, and Bach to Rock! Let’s imagine the day when we can all be together again!

"Pineapple Express" Friend Group Donate 2 iPadsToday’s #COVID19Kindness shout goes to a group nicknamed “The Pineapple Express.” These women heard how challenging connection is for the people we support, made even more important by social distancing during the pandemic, and decided to raise money to donate 2 iPads! Thank you to this wonderful group who are sending out the #Challenge for others to do the same!

Masks, Gloves, Gowns, and PPE Are Donated To The Arc of Howard County

Gowns, safety gloves, face shields, masks, mask clips, and other PPE are in demand daily at The Arc of Howard County‘s 35 residential houses. Thank you Michele and Robert Pouliot of Murphy Business & Financial Services, LLC, Nika Edwards of Nika’s Hair Studio, Valerie Fawcett, and Nick Tsamis for generously donating safety gloves, mask clips, and face shields!

Masks are now an essential part of life. To keep everyone safe, community members, families of people supported by The Arc of Howard County, and local businesses have generously donated masks. Special shoutout to Amie Sevrin for making 100(!) handmade masks and Robert Paul of Swagworld for donating masks. Thanks to everyone for supporting The Arc of Howard County! John Biggs heard The Arc of Howard County needed face shields and wanted to help. With generous donations from friends, John — owner of GreyBeard3D — donated 50 face shields and 50 EarSavers. Local Distilleries Donate Hand Sanitizer and Cleaning Alcohol to The Arc of Howard County

Hand sanitizer goes fast these days. To keep up with demand, The Arc of Howard County reached out for help. Local distilleries stepped up. MISCellaneous Distillery and Sagamore Spirit came through with large quantities of hand sanitizer, while Barton 1792 Distillery donated alcohol for cleaning face shields, as well as hand sanitizer. Thank you, MISCellaneous Distillery, Sagamore Spirit, and Barton 1792 Distillery for supporting The Arc of Howard County! We could not do what we do without YOU!

Senator Katie Fry Hester Stepped Up with Donation from Patapsco Distilling Company

Senator Katie Fry Hester and her neighbors donated 30 gallons of hand sanitizer from Patapsco Distlling Company to The Arc of Howard County.

Hearing that The Arc of Howard County urgently needed hand sanitizer, Senator Katie Fry Hester stepped up. Katie Fry Hester, Maryland Senate D9 reached out to a local distillery, which had converted to producing hand sanitizer. With donations from Western Ellicott City’s Woodmark Community to cover production costs, Senator Fry Hester teamed up with Patapsco Distilling Company to donate 30 gallons of hand sanitizer to The Arc of Howard County! Special shoutout to Woodmark Community members — Joe Love, Amy Curran Brewster, Victoria Budich, Robert McCormick, Nancy McAllister, Jennifer Speigel, Daphne R. Pallozzi, and Senator Katie Fry Hester — for making this donation possible!

The Arc of Howard County Chosen as First Feed Howard County Recipient

Feed Howard County Donated 100 Meals from Tino's Italian Bistro to The Arc of Howard County
The Arc of Howard County was honored to be the first recipient of Feed Howard County’s initiative to help feed the community during the COVID-19 crisis. Feed Howard County is a partnership between Howard County Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) and Howard County restaurants. Thank you to Feed Howard County and Tino’s Italian Bistro for providing 100 meals to our staff working in residential services!
Members of First Presbyterian Church also surprised us with boxes and boxes of donated food! Thank you to Pat Curran and Debra Reese! Special Shout out to Lance Cook and Nicole Giannini owners of Tino’s Italian Bistro for the delicious meals and for always showing up in a big way for The Arc of Howard County and the community!

Ledo Pizza Columbia Donates 80 Pizzas!

Ledo's Pizza Donates 80 Pizzas to The Arc of Howard County

While we couldn’t deliver sunshine to our residential houses …we did deliver 80 pizzas to staff and people supported by The Arc of Howard County one rainy day! Huge shout out to Kevin Schultz, owner of Ledo Pizza in Columbia who DONATED ALL of the pizzas. What an amazing Act of COVID Kindness!
Kevin and Ledo Pizza in Columbia, are also Howard County Commission on Disabilities award winners for their inclusive hiring practices! Thank you also goes out to Arc Staff who braved the rain and delivered pizza & smiles (behind the masks) to The Arc of Howard County’s residential houses in our community!
