The Knights of Columbus has donated $10,000 to The Arc of Howard County. The gift came from the proceeds of the annual “Campaign for People with Intellectual Disabilities.” During the fundraising effort, Knights of Columbus members from the 150 Knights of Columbus Councils across Maryland distribute candy bars in exchange for donations used to support programs to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
Vince Grauso, a member of the board of The Arc of Howard County and an officer of the Maryland State Council of the Knights of Columbus, noted that the recent gift is intended to support a new strategic initiative to leverage technology to improve the lives of people served by The Arc of Howard County.
Locally, Grauso is also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, which has supported The Arc with annual donations of at least $2,500 from the candy bar drive and other fundraisers.
“The Arc of Howard County is extremely grateful for this generous gift from the Knights of Columbus as well as the Knights’ ongoing support of the intellectual and developmental disabilities community and The Arc in particular over the years,” said Ed Wilson, President of the board.
