Housing Choices
Like everyone else, individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities like to have choices about where and with whom they live. Some live with family members, or in a group setting, while others live on their own.
The Arc supports typical adult lifestyles in the community for all individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities regardless of the severity. To that end The Arc provides customized support services in apartments, townhomes or single-family residences. Support ranges from drop in assistance with shopping and bill paying to 24-hour personal care by trained staff members.
Support and services include health care, transportation, access to community activities, and facilitation of relationships with family and friends.
