The Arc continues to support workers with cognitive and developmental disabilities even after they’ve retired. People 55 and older often choose to participate in our Supported Retirement Program. Involvement in this program is tailored to each individual’s wants and needs. Each participant has a choice of activities available in the community and is encourages to offer suggestions for additional activities.
A partnership with the Howard County Office on Aging includes joint activities with local senior centers. Older adults attend community social events, recreational outings such as the theatre or a fishing trip as well as lunch out and shopping.
